Meet Our Staff

Neil Olshefski

With logged flight since his twelfth birthday Neil developed a passion for flying and antique aircraft early in life. The family friend who introduced him to flying happened to be building a Pitts Special in his garage, thus Neil’s introduction to aircraft maintenance and aircraft building.  This friend also happened to own an old Fairchild that further peaked his interest in the antiques.  Neil was awarded his A&P from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1988.  He has owned and operated an FBO and has experience working on everything from Monocoupes built in the 1930’s to today’s modern single and twin engine general aviation aircraft.  Following his passion, and with the help of Fred, he opened the hangar doors to Volusia Aircraft Services.

Fred Bailey

Fred was awarded his A&P in 1966 and then received his IA in 1969, which he held during his tenure at Maine Instrument Flight School over the next 20 years. At Maine he gained a great deal of experience with the maintenance of general aviation aircraft.  He also spent a few years working for Butler Aviation maintaining large commercial jets but soon left to return to general aviation as he found it more to his liking.  After his time with Butler he worked for Vintage Props and Jets in New Smyrna Beach for over 15 years as Chief Inspector maintaining, inspecting and repairing a fleet of King Airs, Navajos and 1900's.  After a brief retirement he found himself bored and now contributes his years of experience to the team at Volusia Aircraft Services.

You can rest assured that your aircraft, whether a treasured antique or a modern complex aircraft, is in safe and capable hands with the experienced technicians here at Tube-N-Fabric, Inc.
